the move to orange city

Ian, Kylynn *, and I are now officially moved up to Orange City, Iowa. Lisa is still in Omaha. She is 28 weeks pregnant with our twins, and she is on full bed rest from here on out. The doctors think she could deliver any time in the next three weeks.

We were fortunate to have lots of help with the move from our families. Most of our boxes are unpacked. The office is still a bit of a mess but it's at least functional. I'm now working out of my Orange City home office. I have an IP telephone with a local Omaha number and I can connect to my client's network using a VPN. It's nice to see how technology can be used to bridge gaps in geography.

We've taken a dip or two in our new in-ground swimming pool. Over the last days the water has grown a bit murky. Pool maintenance is truly an every day operation. With frequent trips to Omaha to check on Lisa, it will be difficult to keep up with the pool.

I went to Detroit/Auburn Hills early last week. Kylynn was on vacation so my mother came over to watch Ian. The trip to Detroit was great. We got to visit Warren Truck Assembly (where they make Dodge Rams and Dakotas) and New Boston (where they ship vehicles via rail east of the Mississippi River).

(* Kylynn is Ian's nanny)
